Delta 8 THC is a popular cannabinoid that is remarkably similar to Delta 9 THC. Our team has been at the forefront of innovations leading to the isolation of Delta 8. Now, we are one of the only Delta 8 producers that operate in an FDA-certified lab and conduct DEA-certified, 3rd party lab testing on our products.
Delta 8 has similar properties as Delta 9 and may produce similar psychoactive effects (a “high”). Unlike Delta 9, however, Delta 8 may produce a more functional and focused experience.
Delta 8 is for adults 21+ and may cause feelings of intoxication and impairment. Please use responsibly. Not for sale where Delta 8 is prohibited by law. Check your local laws before purchase.
Effects of Delta-8
The potential effects of Delta 8 THC may vary from person to person. Delta 8 THC is often referred to as the ideal cannabinoid as some describe it to feel like a perfect combination of CBD and Delta 9 THC. Commonly reported potential effects include mood-boosting, euphoria, and a slight high while maintaining a clear head. Lower doses may cause a slight mood change, motivation, and calmness. Higher doses may help with sleep, deep relaxation, and may produce a strong head high.
Delta 8 may offer a more clear-headed experience than that of Delta 9. As more research into Delta 8’s potential benefits is conducted, we continue to learn more about this amazing cannabinoid.
What is Delta 8?
Delta 8 THC, or tetrahydrocannabinol, is a cannabinoid in cannabis that is extremely similar to Delta 9 THC in its chemical structure. While Delta 9 has a ninth carbon atom with a double bond, Delta 8 has an eighth carbon atom with a double bond. This means Delta 8 binds differently to cannabinoid receptors and may produce a different experience.
Delta 8 can be converted from Delta 9 THC and from CBD isolate. Delta 8 made from this method is referred to as an isomer and is convertible because it shares chemical properties of C21H30O2 and a molar mass of 314.464 g/mol.
Conversion from D9 or CBD to Delta 8 THC is done via a chemical reaction using heat, catalysts, solvents, or altered PH environments. The result is a potent Delta 8 isolate that can be used in a variety of cannabis products.
Are Delta 8 THC Gummies Legal in Your State?
Delta 8 THC was made legal by H.R. 2: The Agricultural Improvement Act of 2018, commonly referred to as the 2018 Farm Bill. It was specifically made legal when hemp allowed for all derivatives, isomers, and cannabinoids of hemp that were not Delta 9 THC.
Delta 8 THC is federally legal and can be bought in most states, but laws and restrictions vary at the local level.
Note: While all Greater Hemp products are federally legal, restrictions do vary at the state level. Please check your local state laws before purchasing.
