There are many questions surrounding hemp, but the one that can have the most effect on someone’s life is: “Will I fail a drug test if I use CBD?” The answer to this question is the difference between staying employed or being fired in many industries.

There are different types of CBD, and you can read a full in-depth description of each here.

ALERT: Always check the COA of a CBD product before you buy it so that you know for certain the type and amount of CBD in the product. If there is no COA, or the COA drastically contradicts the description of the product, that is a red flag.

CBD and Drug Tests

CBD Isolate will not cause you to fail a drug test. Isolate is 99.9% pure CBD.

CBD Broad Spectrum will not cause a failed drug test. Due to the infancy of the industry, terminology is not universally consistent. In this context broad spectrum CBD refers to products that contain terpenes and cannabinoids to offer the entourage effect, but THC has been removed.

CBD Full Spectrum can cause you to fail a drug test. Full spectrum is the same as broad spectrum that was previously mentioned, but THC was not removed. Psychoactive effects can be felt from Full Spectrum infused products if enough is ingested, and can lead to a possible positive test. The legal amount of THC a product may contain is 0.3%.

Delta-8 consumption can also result in a failed drug test. You can read about why Delta-8 can cause a failed drug test here.
